Yesterday Microsoft has silently announced a small dongle sized device which will run Windows 8.1 and will bring all it’s features. A company called Lucoms Daewoo is working on such a device together with Microsoft. It will have a HDMI Port so that it is easy to connect to the TV for example. Furthermore it will have USB Port and a MicroSD Card Slot. With the USB Port it is possible to connect a Keyboard and Mouse in order to use it also from a wider distance. The MicroSD Card Slot allows you to expand the internal memory with another 64 GB.
Since Microsoft has only announced the device but didn’t mention any details of it so far, the only thing we know is that it will be available with either 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM and it will be possible to choose between models with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory.
With a length of only 11cm and a weight of just about 46g this will be an awesome device to get the full Windows Experience on a TV. If a Mouse and a Keyboard is connected it is possible to do work on the TV and after work you can right switch to Netflix to stream your favorite TV Series. No Smart TV, no Console, just a small dongle sized Windows 8.1 PC.
