AT&T have teamed up with Mojio to help people connect their cars to the internet, making it possible to locate and control any vehicle built with a diagnostic port from an Android or iOS device.
“Can’t remember where you parked your car? Broken down on the side of the road and not sure what’s wrong? Sick of realizing you’re on empty when you’re already running 10 minutes behind? Now, thanks to it’s partnership with Mojio, AT&T can help! The Mojio solution is a cellular device that plugs into any car’s diagnostic port — a port present in most cars manufactured after 1996. With AT&T’s wireless network connectivity, car owners will be able to locate, monitor and diagnose their car from their iOS or Android smartphone. The possibilities are endless. Using Mojio, your smartphone can alert you when your car is being towed, broken into or has been bumped in a parking lot. In the case of theft, you’re covered by Mojio’s real time GPS allowing the police to locate your car ASAP. On your way to a meeting? Don’t text and drive, let Mojio alert your coworker for you. Even better, it will delay calls and texts until your vehicle is in park. Mojio even tracks your trips to make expense reports easier. It’s all doable thanks to Mojio and AT&T.”
