Kantar World Panel have published their monthly smartphone OS market share report for the various markets, covering the three months from the start of July 2014 to the end of September 2014.
Comparing these numbers (above) to last month’s report (June-August 14) shows that Windows Phone has remained on 9.2% share in EU5 (aggregated Figures for GB, Germany, France, Italy and Spain) it also remained the same in Japan on 0.9%. Month on month growth for Microsoft’s mobile platform occurred in Germany, up 0.2 points to 7.1%, France, up 0.7 to 10.6%, Australia, up 1.1 points to 6.2% and Italy, up 0.8 to 15.6%.
Windows Phone market share declined against last month in the USA where it dropped 0.4 percent points to 4.3% as well as China, down 0.2 to 0.4% and GB down 0.7 to 9.6%.
The ten markets covered by KWP show varying trends in different locations. These latest figures tie in with the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, but this hasn’t had a huge impact on Windows Phone, which is still gaining and dropping percent points every month. We will keep an eye on these figures and keep you informed.
