Windows Phone 8.1 Dev Preview Update Brings Live Folders and Cortana to More Countries

Earlier I wrote a post on an update being rolled out for Windows Phone 8 devices running the 8.1 Developer Preview, but as it was still installing on my 920 I wasn’t totally sure what it would bring, well I can now confirm it brings the new Live Folders, which lets you create folders by dropping one live tile onto another and lets you see updates (unlike the app App Folders), it also adds Cortana to more markets, it is now available here in the UK (without changing your Region Settings) and I believe China also.

The update took a good 20 minutes to half an hour to install. You can check to see if it is available on your Developer unlocked device by going to Settings menu, scrolling down to Phone Update and clicking Check for Update. The build number is 8.10.14147.180. We will bring you more on this.
