In collaboration with British designer A. Sauvage, Microsoft Mobile (formerly Nokia) has created wearable technology that I could definitely get myself into: the world’s first wireless charging trousers, as part of London Collections: “Modern Man”.
All it takes is for you to place your wireless charging-enabled Lumia in your pocket, and let the inductive charging do its work! It’s perfect complement to Microsoft’s “Modern” design language, and they definitely look good too!
The trousers use the same technology found in Nokia’s DC-50 wireless charging plate, embedded within the pants for a functional and fashionable experience for the modern smartphone-touting man.
“We have a proud history of working within fashion, having previously collaborated with Bruce Weber and David Bailey, as well as recent partnerships at New York and London Fashion Week.
Continuing this theme, we are excited to work alongside a talented designer such as A. Sauvage. As well as having the vision to co-create these amazing wireless charging trousers, his style complements the cutting-edge design of the new Lumia 930 smartphone perfectly.”
– Adam Johnson, Marketing Director for Microsoft Mobile (UK and Ireland)
Luckily, you’ll get the opportunity to buy them soon, as they’ll be going on sale through Amazon UK, with pre-orders starting soon. You can also enter to win a pair of these fashion-forward trousers by checking out the promotion at the NokiaUK Facebook Page for terms and conditions, or following @NokiaUK on twitter. Unfortunately the competition is only open to those who reside in the UK, which means Derrek will have to wait to get his hands on a pair.
