ITV Player Arrives On Windows Phone 8

ITV Player, the catch up service from the free to air UK TV station, have released an app for Windows Phone 8, meaning all 5 of the UK’s major TV stations have an offering on Microsoft’s mobile platform.

Just a few days after the BBC updated their Windows Phone 8 app ITV have now published an app which allows live streaming of ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV along with a 30 day catch up service, all playable over either WiFi or mobile data.

With the 2014 World Cup due to start in two weeks, Windows Phone 8 users in the UK will be able to watch all the games live on their smartphones using the streaming options on the BBC iPlayer and now ITV Player.

As well as the iPlayer, ITV’s app joins 4OD and Demand 5 on the Windows Phone platform, representing the fact that Windows Phone market share in the UK is now in double figures and firmly established as the 3rd smartphone ecosystem.
