Today, many had received an email from Nokia & Microsoft notifying the revision of policies and adding that the USD 7.2 billion deal will now be finalized by this month. This is just a notice from MS posting that it would take care of your data like how Nokia did.
The validation of the final deal has been delayed due to pending regulatory approvals from some Asian antitrust authorities but today’s email had cited that the deal would close this month. Sad news but reverential.
“Our acquisition will accelerate our mobile-first, cloud-first imperatives. We’re looking forward to accelerating innovation and market adoption for Windows Phones and introducing the next billion customers to Microsoft services via Nokia mobile phones” said Brad Smith (Microsoft General Counsel and Executive VP (Legal & Corporate Affairs) in a press meet.
With this acquisition, Microsoft can invest more into making its own devices apart from just phones but Nokia will also improve its brand presence in the market. As mentioned earlier, with Microsoft waiving the license fee to two Indian Phone makers might further increase the market share confirms analysts.
The email also states that the data collected through HERE will be with Nokia along with those properties that are still held by them.
