Nokia are hosting an event in Paddington, London on Friday 28th March inviting Android developers to come along and learn more about porting their apps to run on Nokia’s new X family of devices. As well as providing food and drink, Nokia are also offering a free Nokia X device to anyone who ports their app while at the event.
A lot of enthusiastic developers came to meet us at Mobile World Congress. Now it’s time for us to return the favour: we’re coming to you. The Nokia X Porting Bus has already helped Android developers port hundreds of apps to Nokia X. (To be honest, not much help’s required; most ports are simple.)
Now it’s on the open road with a crew of experts and new Nokia X devices that we’ll trade for ported apps. The bus is in London on Friday 28 March 2014 for one day only, and we’d love it if you popped in and ported your app with us. As a bonus, we’ll be rewarding you with DVLUP points. DVLUP is our developer reward program so the more apps you port on the day, the more DVLUP points you’ll earn.
This is your chance to get ‘under the bonnet’ of Nokia X, and find out from our technical experts how this brand-new platform has been put together.
The bus will be parked outside Nokia’s Paddington offices at 2 Kingdom Street, London, W2 6BD all day.
What you get
Not only will you have access to our Nokia X xperts for as long as you need or want it, everyone who comes to the bus and ports an app while they’re there will receive their own, exclusive Nokia X device. These phones aren’t available in the UK yet, so you will be one of the first people in the country to get your hands on one.
As well as that, everyone who pre-registers and checks in on the day will go into a prize draw to win some fantastic goodies.
