The picture above is believed to be an authentic screen shot taken from Windows Phone 8.1, showing that the next iteration of Microsoft’s mobile platform will allow users to separately change the volume of the ringer/notifications and Media/apps. There are also controls for setting Silent mode and accessing deeper Volume Settings.
The picture, which comes from Chinese site WPBar shows two separate sliders along with Chinese writing, the first of which goes between 0 and 10 and controls the ring tone and notifications for example SMS, email notifications etc. while the lower one goes between 0 and 30 and controls media and apps volume, such as music and videos, games volume etc.
An option for separate volume controls, which is believed to be accessed from a drop down menu, has been a much requested feature on Windows Phone. Windows Phone 8.1 also known as Windows Phone Blue is expected to be announced in April and should roll out to all devices currently running on Windows Phone 8.
