Well it was approved by the shareholders & now The U.S. Dept. Of Justice has given the thumps up to the Microsoft -Nokia deal. Microsoft will purchase Nokia’s handset division for $7.2 billion if all is approved. The next step is the European Union which is expected to make there decision on Dec 4th.
The buyout by Microsoft is expected to be completed in early 2014 and it looks & seems to headed that way with no foreseen holdups.
This is bittersweet for me being a huge longtime Nokia guy, but i guess its a step in the right direction for the benefit of all involved.
