Nokia Refocus, which we saw previewed at Nokia World last month is now available for all Nokia Lumia phones running Windows Phone 8 with the Amber update installed.
Nokia Refocus is another great photography app from Nokia, who have brought us Creative Studio, Smart Cam and Pro Cam (now joined to make Nokia Camera). The app lets you take a photograph of a scene which you can then change the focal point. The photographs can be saved to your SkyDrive account, and shared with friends who can also play around with the focus. You can also choose to select which colours show on an otherwise black and white background.
I have installed the Refocus app on my Lumia 920, and have had a little play around with it. Anyone wanting to take a look at a picture shot with the Refocus app can click HERE to see one which I uploaded.
You can download Nokia Refocus yourself, by clicking HERE to download it from the Windows Phone store.
Here is the full description:
Requires the Lumia Amber software update. Nokia Refocus lets you take a photo first and choose what you want in focus later. It’s perfect when you’re shooting close-ups of your subject because it allows you to show depth in your photos, and then change focal point if you want. You can also add great effects like All in focus and Colour pop.
When you’re done, share your interactive Refocus photos via social media, email and messaging – all you need is a SkyDrive account. The application first uploads your photos to SkyDrive and then creates a link that you can share with friends so they can play around and change the focus themselves.
You can share Refocus photos over WiFi or a mobile data connection, so be sure to check your network operator’s data charges first.
To get the latest software updates for your phone, go to Settings > Phone Update. You can also find out more about the Lumia Amber software update online at nokia.com/lumia-update.
