Nokia has grabbed a big win over HTC in patent war in the UK, after hearing both sides of the argument a patent judge decided that HTC had infringed on a European Patent held by Nokia entitled “Modulator structure for a transmitter and a mobile station”, according to court documents.
A spokesman for Nokia stated
“Today’s judgment is a significant development in our dispute with HTC,” a Nokia spokesman said.
“Nokia will now seek an injunction against the import and sale of infringing HTC products in the UK as well as financial compensation.”
HTC spokesman said they would appeal the decision.
Microsoft who is acquiring the mobile division of Nokia, is just licensing the patents from them not buying, this is huge for Nokia who is a Major player when it comes to patent holders. This will give them a lot of power to continue this patent war against the competition.
This certainly don’t help HTC who has enough problems already & this verdict just adds to them.
