Nokia’s yet to be announced “phablet”, the Lumia 1520 is set to come with a pretty huge battery to help power the 1080p 6″ screen, and quad core Snapdragon 800 processor.
The 1520, codenamed “Bandit” will, according to WPCentral, will hold 3,400-mAh (milli Ampere hours) battery. To put that into perspective, the Lumia 920, 925 and 1020 have a 2,000-mAh. Apple’s iPhone 5s will come with a 1,570-mAh battery, and compared to other tablets the Samsung Note 3 will hold 3,100-mAh.
Good news for anyone hoping to get the device when it goes on sale, which according to the Windows Phone fan site will be early November. It will come with GDR3 update Bittersweet Shimmer, which brings support for 1080p screens, and a new layout of Live Tiles.
We can expect to see the Lumia 1520 at a Nokia event in New York on September 26th. Will you be interested in this device? Personally I will be pleased to see Nokia returning to 16:9 screens. All the Lumia devices have had 15:9 and while this is better on smaller screens, on a 6″ screen width is not such an issue.
