We’ve taken a look at Nokia Music’s July bulletin, and thought we’d share with you what they’ve been up to.
Mix Party Launches on Xbox 360
“It’s simple and fun to use. Pick three artists and your personalised streaming playlist is automatically created featuring an outstanding – and relevant – selection of similar artists to enjoy. Some clever technology means anyone at your party with a smartphone can scan the QR code and sync. Vote for the artist you want to hear next and the track with the most votes wins. It’s that easy.

Rock The Beach
With Summer reaching Finland, Nokia Music sponsored Rock The Beach, which was being held at Hietaniemi beach. The event was in partnership with Finnish carrier Elisa. Here’s what happened:
“Tens of thousands of rock music fans showed up to enjoy rabble-rousing sets from the likes of Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age, Rammstein, Thirty Seconds to Mars and The Gaslight Anthem. The venue provided a stunning backdrop to the series of shows – part beach vacation, part moshpit!”
Slow Club delivered a beautiful set befitting the faded grandeur of Glasgow’s Britannia Panopticon, the world’s oldest surviving music hall. Founded in 1857, the Britannia quickly became the most popular place of amusement in the city.
The Lumia Live Sessions is a tour that sees Nokia and music video pioneers La Blogotheque team up to showcase hot new UK music talent at a series of free gigs in unusual settings across the UK.
Lumia Live Sessions have seen soul sensation Lianne La Havas perform in a skatepark in Liverpool, electro-pop band Fenech-Soler in a mixed martial arts venue and Mercury Prize nominated Ghostpoet perform in a cemetery in Bristol.

International Music Summit
The International Music Summit took place in Ibiza and Nokia Music made their presence known.
Nokia Music flew into town to support the IMS Legends Dinner: the showpiece event celebrating the most iconic names in dance music. This year’s recipient was the original funk soul brother, Fatboy Slim. DJ Norman Cook hosted an intimate crowd of friends, top DJs and industry stalwarts, complete with video messages from Iggy Pop, David Byrne, previous winner Carl Cox and more.
