Nokia’s finally succumbing to the large screen market. We started seeing reasonably bigger phones from the company with the launch of the Windows Phone 8 9xx devices, and a recent push with the Lumia 625’s 4.7″ screen being the biggest put on a Nokia phone thus far. Now a rumor has surfaced that an even larger phone is set to be launched in the coming months sporting a 5.2-inch screen.
According to the information, Nokia Lumia 825 will sport a 720p screen, which indicated that Nokia is preparing for the GDR3 update and stepping up their game in terms of resolution. Mid-range phones will have 720p (something I’ve been expecting for a while now) and higher-end Lumias will most likely sport full HD resoutions (4K anyone?). It should also be noted that the device has a quad-core Snapdragon chipset possibly clocked at 1.2GHz, giving this ‘budget’ phone a lot more bang for the buck!
The site also mentions that given the possible chipset that the device will sport, we should also expect to see dual-SIM support, Miracast wireless output, and QuickCharge 1.0 (something apparently featured on the Lumia 920. Maybe we’ll see version 2.0 on higher end-models?).
While I’m not a fan of large screens, with this new gigantous Lumia just on the horizon, I can’t help but be excited for what Nokia’s next flagship phones will have in store for us!
