Over at WMPoweruser they have posted the above photo and claimed it to be a “marketing render” of the yet unannounced Nokia Lumia 729 for Verizon. (Verizon’s own version of the Lumia 720) Which would be a reasonable thing for Verizon to carry another Lumia device however I am have my doubts about this leak.
First off Nokia ALWAYS makes the time on the device the name of the device. This one is supposed to be the Lumia 729 the time on the devices says “6:35”. Also in the camera area that silver strip is WAY too big on all other Lumia devices I have seen that strip takes up 1/3 of the length of the device not half. There is no Verizon branding anywhere on this device (not even the 4g branding) and the tiles are blue on every other Verizon/Nokia render the tiles have been red. In fact on Nokia Verizon devices there is a special “Verizon Red” color in the color pallet.
There are a couple of other odd things about this “marketing render” that scream fake to me but I will leave them go for now. Sorry folks nothing to see here move along.
