CROWDFUND x New York City was held at The New School last week, and I had the fortunate opportunity (thanks to the great folks at @NokiaAtWork) to attend the evening Challenge Event where young companies pitched their businesses in a competition for the $25,000 grand prize . The categories: Social Enterprise, Small Business, and Startup, all comprised of passionate entrepreneurs capitalizing on finding cool, innovative solutions and fresh new approaches to solving common problems. The grand prize winner: THINX, which makes advanced women’s undergarments, and also assists women in Uganda.
Please check out the accompanying photo gallery, which also features category winners (and incidentally my personal picks) “The Sill” and “RentHackr.” Congratulations to all, and glad to see Nokia and NokiaAtWork as champions and supporters of small businesses.
