I attended the T-Mobile press event in NYC which was held one day prior to the Nokia Zoom Reinvented event. There was a small demo area where T-Mobile was showcasing a few of their prominent devices. I noticed two T-Mobile exclusive devices that received a lot of attention from the press: the ultra sleek Nokia Lumia 925 and waterproof Sony Xperia Z.
I was extremely interested in the wifi calling feature on the T-Mobile exclusive Lumia 925 device because it is a great feature that I have used quite often on my Nokia C7 Astound. Wifi calling allows you to receive and make calls in areas with spotty cell or no reception such as the basement. All you need to do connect is connecting your wifi calling enabled device to your broadband wireless router and turn on wifi calling.
Wifi calling feature is also available on the super affordable Nokia Lumia 521 and it’s a free service from T-Mobile.
Here’s a demo of wifi calling taken during the T-Mobile press event.
Note: The airplane mode was turned on prior to wifi calling demo.
Nokia Lumia 925 will be available starting July 17 and Lumia 521 is available for contract free for $149.
Let us know if you have any questions about wifi calling or Lumia 925/521.
