Nokia’s new Asha handset the 501 goes on sale today, starting with Thailand and Pakistan. More countries are due to get the handset, which further blurs the lines between feature phone and smartphone in the next few weeks.
The Nokia Asha 501, which is optimized for use on 2G networks, come with a Swipe UI style interface very reminiscent of MeeGo Harmattan which is called FastLane, and has WiFi connectivity.
The unsubsidized price is set to be $99.
