Nokia have gone up one position in the top 10 Smartphone manufacturers for quarter 1 2013. They now sit at Number 9, ahead of BlackBerry (10th), while HTC, Nokia’s main Windows Phone competitor dropped out of the top 10.
An interesting point is that positions 10th to 3rd are separated by sales of just over 5 million units, so while Nokia are currently near the bottom of the top 10, if sales of Lumia handsets continue to grow, it may not be too long until they are back in the top 3.
Also worth noting is that these numbers don not include any Asha devices, some of which could be considered a Smartphone. In case you are wondering, Nokia’s numbers are made up of Lumia (7.5 and 8) which sold 5.6million devices in q1 2013 and Symbian, which sold 400,000.
