With Nokia skipping out on CES a few weeks ago I am more excited than ever about Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of this month. This is the show where historically Nokia announces it’s big gun devices. Last year I was blown away when the last ever (and best) Symbian device the Nokia 808 with it’s 41mp Pure View Camera was announced. What’s rumored for this year? Let’s find out.
While Nokia didn’t give us any clues in their official email announcement that was dropped into inbox today here is what is expected from Nokia. It is expected that Verizon customers will finally get a flagship Nokia Lumia device codenamed “Laser” and that Nokia will update the Nokia Lumia 920 with a thinner aluminum shelled device code named “catwalk”. These two items seem to be agreed upon by everyone in the fact that they are coming at MWC.
The showstopper would be the Nokia “EOS”. This is rumored to be the killer device all Lumia users have been waiting for. It is rumored to combine the 808’s 41mp camera with the 920 sexiness and Windows Phone 8 software. I have been reaching to my sources to try to confirm this device and it seem like this may be real. Of course I really want this device to be real and I could be reading the cryptic replies I get back wrong this time but i don’t think so.
I am really excited for this years Mobile World Congress! It looks like Nokia is starting to have it’s second coming and this is another huge step in that process!
