Well it’s official the last Symbian phone ever produced is the Nokia Pure View 808 and what a worthy swan song it was for one the greatest operating system to live. Sadly, buried deep in Nokia’s 4th Qtr report was this little nugget:
During our transition to Windows Phone through 2012, we continued to ship devices based on Symbian,” the company wrote. “The Nokia 808 PureView, a device which showcases our imaging capabilities and which came to market in mid-2012,(this) was the last Symbian device from Nokia
Now it’s time to bid fair well to an OS that was neglected to point of death yet could somehow still stand toe to toe with the “more modern OS’s” and take them down. While I currently do not have a Nokia Pure View 808 in my personal collection I will be getting one shortly. I simply can’t call myself a Nokia collector while letting the last phone of this legendary OS slip through my hands.
