Arthur and I were invited to Asus Windows 8 Press preview event dubbed 'In Search of Incredible'. Since the event was in NYC, I decided not to drive and took the bus into city and walked to from Penn Station. Upon arrival, members of the press were greeted at meeting area and escorted to hall where the main event took place. Jonny Shih, Asus' CEO, took the stage after a visual stunning introduction.
As many of you already know, Windows 8 will be available starting Friday October 26. The focus of this event was showing the new Windows 8 lineup and Asus has something for everyone.
Here's a highlight of the Asus Windows 8 line up:
is an affordable touch powered notebook that comes with a cool price tag and it starts as low as $499. There are two versions S200 and S400, and both come with 32 GB web storage for three years. The will be available in a selection of vibrant colors.
RT "With its innovative tablet and mobile dock design, RT delivers an excellent combination of performance and portability, both for work and play." RT runs on Windows 8 RT and will be available in , 4G/LTE (AT&T) or 3G (EU) and the user could choose between 32 or 64 GB of storage. The model starts at $599 and doesn't come with the dock.
ET 2300 All in one PC can convert from the traditional upright display to a table top by laying it flat. It has two Thunderbolt ports, HDMI port for game console or player and Wireless Display (). The ET 2300 'is the first All-in-One PC with a built-in array speaker and subwoofer, an external subwoofer, and ASUS technology — these enable the ET2300 to deliver incredible acoustic fidelity'.
was the highlight of the event. is a dual display /Tablet hybrid, it 'combines the best features of multi touch tablet and . It switches seamlessly between the two by simply lifting of a finger'. It comes in 3 flavors, all 11.6" Full HD screen, 4 GB RAM, 126/256 SSD, Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. Pricing for the Asus starts at $1299.
