World Maker Faire – New York 2012

Where would you go for a tasty helping of Raspberry Pi, or perhaps catch a Mouse Trap in action?  The answer is simple: Maker Faire!  I visited the weekend-long festival yesterday, courtesy of Asus USA, one of the sponsors of the event, and took in a mind boggling venue that delivered on the promise of five words in their marketing materials:  Build. Craft. Hack. Play. MAKE.  Thousands converged at the New York Hall of Science to witness the latest in leading edge technology, the best in DIY creativity, and take in meetings of the minds in thought provoking discussions led by speakers such as Stephen Wolfram and Mason Peck of NASA.  Katy Perry the Unicorn dazzled with backup dancers in the like of Katy Perry, and the Coke Zero & Mentos event assured everyone from age 2-102 a memorable Maker Faire experience in the name of science and just plain fun.  Take a look at the accompanying photo gallery of the event, and get out there, and Make!
