The all-new duo of Windows 8-powered phones from Nokia, the Lumia 820 and 920, debuted to eager fans and attendees on the evening of September 5th at Center548 in Chelsea, New York City. A steady stream of excited party-goers queued up and entered the Nokia Blue-themed entrance-way throughout the night, to be happily greeted by Nokia product specialists, cool product demos, free-flowing bars, unforgettable courses of finger food, and of course, priceless hands-on time with the latest and greatest gadgets from Espoo. The Lumia phones themselves, dressed up in stunningly bright red and yellow-hued polycarbonate shells, fit right into the evening’s colorful crowds and festivities without a hitch. The upbeat tunes spun by the lively DJ and night-long prize drawings kept the atmosphere light and entertaining, while guests queued up to witness the latest in PureView imaging tech and PureMotion HD+ displays offered on the latest flagship Lumia, the 920. Others, such as myself, reveled in the cover-changing personalization possibilities of it’s smaller and even more affordable sibling, the new Lumia 820. As the night went on, partygoers also explored the rooftop view, taking in the breathtaking sights of the city during sunset, and reluctantly wound down a fun and memorable evening celebrating the launch of the latest handsets from Nokia.
