South Africa’s top weekly newspaper The Sunday Times has taken it’s annual survey and Nokia is South Africa’s most loved cell phone brand…again. During the 14th annual Sunday Times Top Brands Survey event held in Johannesburg they revealed Nokia as the leading cell-phone brand in the business to consumer category.
This is based off of overall brand familiarity, user experience, non-user perception, and actual brand presence in the South African market. The combined results calculated the winning brands in 38 consumer categories, and 13 business sector categories.
This is not Nokia’s only win in South Africa according to World Wide Worx’s Mobility 2012 survey over half of the South Africans surveyed chose a Nokia when buying a phone. It seems in country where durability of a phone still counts for something that Nokia’s relationship with it’s customers and it’s reputation for making quality cell phones still win the day.
