According to Canalys while Windows Phone is still not a major player (market share wise) it is growing at a rapid rate. According to the numbers there was 277 percent more Windows Phone shipped this year over last year.
While this isn’t necessarily indicative of sales numbers it is still impressive number. Windows Phone is now sitting at 3.2% only 2.4% away (or 3.5 million units shipped) from taking away the number three spot from Blackberry. I am thinking by early next year Windows Phone will have claimed that number three spot from Blackberry with the release of Windows Phone 8 later this year and Blackberry sales rapidly deteriorating.
