Some how I missed this and I just wanted to pass it along. It seems that the search for “Lumia” has now overtaken the searches for Droid on Google Search. While this doesn’t mean that Nokia has now taken over the smartphone market it is impressive never the less.
Simply for the fact that the to the unwashed masses out there the phrase “Droid” is still a generic term that means any Android powered phone. This makes me wonder if the term “Lumia” is a generic term that means any Windows Phone powered device to some people?
U.S. Would be tough to overtake because all they have is the 900 running on 1 network.
Interesting to see the breakdown and which regions are amongst the top 10 – US and UK don’t appear – Finland and India the highest and Nordic languages with most searches.
