Every new phone that comes on the market sporting a the new “best camera phone ever” needs to be put to the test. How do you put them to the test you ask? Pit them up against the Nokia N8 of course! (the Nokia 808 would just be unfair)
I got my hands on a HTC Titan II with 16mp camera with a 2.6 aperture size vs the Nokia N8’s 12mp camera with 2.8 aperture. I tried to take similar pictures with both and posted the results below.
I will not tell you which is which till the end of the post so try to make the call on which one you like best before I spoil it on the bottom. On a side note I think the N8 was set on 3mp setting when I took these pics so it’s really a 3mp N8 vs a 16mp Titan II. Some how I don’t think really affected the N8 at all.
(both phones are set on auto expect for the one Macro shot.)
The top pictures were the Nokia N8 and the bottom pictures are the Titan II. They both seem very similar to me and expect if the sun was behind the clouds or not. The Titan has done a great job for indoors and will have a head to head post on that coming soon.
At this point would I trust the Titian II to be my point and shoot camera like the I trust the N8? Not yet but at least I wouldn’t have to drag my phone and N8 to special occasions like I have to do now.
