What you are looking at is a patent that Microsoft put in for at The United States Patent and Trademark Office. What it seems we are looking at here is not a second touch screen on that back but more of a low powered display. Having the time constantly shown on 4.5 inches big on the back of the phone would be pretty handy.
Also this display may be powered by separate low power processor that will continue to run even if the phone is in “sleep mode” One would imagine that it would be like Nokia’s “Sleeping Screen” but only on the back of the phone.
It seems that Microsoft also would like to move the notification bar to top of the phone. With the time, signal strength, wifi, battery life icons all on the top of the screen it would make the whole front screen a clean useable area.
To me this one seems like a no brainier..More useable screen real estate for me plus all the information I need is more accessible. My only question is when and where can I get one?
