Angry Birds to Get Their Own “TV Show” and Movie?

It seems that the Angry Birds are not just content on your phone or tablet now…Nope they are now taking over your TV, well sort of.  Angry Birds announced a new  animated series announced at MIPTV.

According to Rovio’s head of animation Nick Dorra

“It’s about telling more engaging stories… and deeper thoughts, deeper feelings of the characters, such as why are they always angry? Angry Birds is not just about the gameplay, and will be in the future less and less about the slingshot, actually, and more and more about the characters.”

Rovio is also looking to get the shorts available on “all screens”.  The 52-episode animated Angry Birds series with shows being only two to three minutes in length. The show will be produced by Rovio in Finland.

Nick Dorra stated that the Angry Birds movie is in development, He expects it to be out 2013 or 2014.

Does anyone else think that this Angry Birds thing may be going  just a bit too far or is just me?
