Looks like the Nokia 808 is getting the established Camera makers worried. Olympus looks is putting out precautionary strikes against Pure View.
Mark Thackara, who is a U.K. Marketing Manager for Olympus was bold enough to describe the handset’s 41-megapixel camera as “utter nonsense”. “The size of the lens means that the overall quality of the image will still be restricted,” he added. And all of that comes from a person that had not actually tried the camera prior to making his statement.
Looks like they are scared that Nokia is putting a camera on their phone that is better than they can make on stand alone cameras. This tweet by Damian Dinning (Head of Imaging for Nokia) sums up my thoughts on this matter.
