Over at Into Mobile they got to the Nokia Research Center in Sunnyvale, Calif. and they got a really great hands on of the Nokia Kinetic. While it is basically the same demos as seen previously, it is without all the noise and people of Nokia World you get a much better feel for the Kinetic does.
But the most interesting part of the Demo for me comes at the 2 minute mark when they ask him “How for away is this from mass production?..”
“I don’t see any other obstacle than just being sure that it’s worth putting your money into developing one of these kind of products. So technically it’s totally possible to have this type of deceive ..It’s just of matter of….which kind of product you want to introduce into the market.”
Do I personally think we will see Nokia produce a Kinetic phone anytime soon? The short answer is no. Nokia currently has too many irons in the fire the way it is for their new strategy of becoming leaner, quicker, and more agile to stay ahead of an every changing market. However, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like one to come to market so I could buy it.
