The Windows Phones store has taken a lot of slack for “only” having 40,000 apps. I have been making the argument for a while that is it about quality of the apps not the quantity for a long time now in the Nokia/OVI store.
For instance there were 29 Twitter apps alone for the iPhone in 2009 and a ton more out there for Facebook….But as a Symbian user I could careless if there were ten thousand Twitter apps out there because I had one quality app, Gravity.
The same is starting to become true for Windows Phone, even though it does not have even have a tenth of the apps that the big boys have, they are quality apps. In fact according to a recent post by NokNok Windows Phone has 34 of the Top 50 iPhone apps as of Nov. 23, 2011.
Again, I ask you look down at your phone check to see how many apps are on it, than take it a step further and think about how many you USE. So does it really matter if your app store has a hundred apps or a million apps if those hundred apps are the right ones?
