Just a quick post to let everyone know that even with all the doom and gloom about Nokia’s demise and Samsung’s and Apple’s rise to power that Nokia is the still the world’s largest handset maker by a Whopping 18,800,000 units.
According to the IDC for the 3rd quarter Nokia has 27.1% of the world wide market share or they have shipped 106.6 million units, while Samsung had 87.8 million, LG has 21.1 million, ZTE had 19.1 million and Apple in 5th place with 17.1 million.
While these numbers may not come as a shock to people in other parts of the world I am guessing these number are going to be a real shock to the US market.
