I am starting, just now to really get into the N8’s camera settings, how they work and what they do. Along the way I have taken some photos that I personally think aren’t that great composition wise, but rather show how good the N8’s camera is in difficult situations.
For example in the photo above I was in a car doing 80 mph, the windshield was dirty, it was an over cast day and at this point I had NO IDEA about the N8’s settings so it was taken on Auto. I despite all of that the N8 over came all the obstacles (and it’s user) and took this detailed picture.
This photo may not look like much but it is a still photo of a moving roller coaster taken by a cell phone! Plus at this point I had the digital zoom 75% zoomed in. This type of photo taken with the zoom that far in would give fits to stand alone camera much less a cell phone camera. Note the little details in this photo, you can even individual strands of hair blowing in the wind of riders.
This photo did not translate as well as I would have hoped onto the site however…you can still see how well the N8 handles the low lighting in the front, the direct sunshine in the middle and all the in between lighting on the sides. This is another photo I had taken on Auto, I am sure if I would used a one of the settings available to me on the phone it would have been even better!
As I learn and fumble my way though the N8’s camera settings you will get updates on my progress (hopefully better pictures too!) and maybe, just maybe we can all learn something together.
