The above screenshot was originally snapped by WpCentral off of the rules for a Mango-app contest. The part that we are interested in is:
“The estimated retail value of the phone is $600.00. The type of Windows Phone 7.5 will vary and will be selected at Microsoft’s choosing (examples include Samsung Yukon, Samsung Wembley, NOKIA Searay and NOKIA Sabre)”
That’s right the Nokia Sabre, not only does this confirm that this phone is different than the Searay, and that Nokia has at least two Windows Phones coming very soon…..It also confirms that Nokia will indeed release the N9 as the Searay in Windows Phone form. Rumor mill has the Sabre being a mid range Windows Phones with a 3.7 inch screen (which is the minimum hardware requirement for a Windows Phone now) , and a micro sim card.
This also raises the question: Is Nokia abandoning it’s latest naming convention for the more “American style” of phone naming on it’s Windows Phones?
Want to see the entire rules for a Mango-app contest? Here is the only place you can find the original version of them. Microsoft quickly modified the page once the story got out, and remove all the devices names.
