Reviewing the Nokia C6-00 Design

Let me start by saying, Nokia does not quit in the design department, they seem to listen to their consumers and improve on their next line of devices enter the C6.

The Nokia C6 Design takes a lot from the previous Nokia devices.

Such as.

  • The shape of the C6 reminds of the Nokia 5800XM with an improved Flush screen and raised Call, Menu, and End key.

  • The Nokia C6 takes its User Interface from the Nokia N97 called Symbian^1.

The QWERTY keys on the Nokia C6 reminds me of the Nokia N900 QWERTY keys. Their raised and have a very good tactile feedback &  good spacing, I also liked the improved Dpad on the right side instead of arrow keys.

The only things that bothered me with the design was no dedicated Power Button & no camera lens cover.

The end key has become the power button like on the Nokia E63 and with no lens cover it will be prone to scratches.

I really love the improved design of the Nokia C6, The sliding mechanism of the QWERTY keyboard has been perfected in my opinion. No more wobbly slider, I think Nokia deserves a credit on this one as they’ve been trying hard to meet our demands.

I think For the Selling price and targeted Market this device just in terms of  the design & build quality is a great deal unsubsidized.

From 1 to 10.. I rate the design a 8.

  1. I installed the C6 firmware on my Nokia 5800XM…using PNHT forum’s custom ported firmware. Wow. Big difference. The FW is FAST, and very efficient with resources. The homescreen widgets are great. If I needed a full QWERTY, the C6 is a great value. Of course, the 5800XM has a candybar form-factor with great speakers, Carl Zeiss lens, and dual LED…so for me I now have the best of both worlds….IMHO.

  2. Looking for a replacement device of my wife’s 6234, so I can use these kinds of reviews.
The Phone House in NL offers the C6 for free on the subscription she needs.
    It’s a candidate!

  3. Hey man, I just spotted this post over on WOMWorld/Nokia and I have to say: I TOTALLY AGREE!

I’m surprised more people haven’t picked up on how awesome the design is actually 🙂
    Good work.
